STREET IMPROVEMENTS Currently, the Thomas Circle reconstruction project takes up most of the street improvement in my SMD. Street improvement shouldn’t be limited to major renovations alone. I periodically take walks through the district and try to find streets that could be repaved or sidewalks that are uneven but I need your help in identifying streets that need repair. Please e-mail me. Another major area of focus is increasing the lighting in the neighborhood. If you see a street lamp that is burned out, please visit www.dc.gov to file an on-line request that the lamp gets fixed. In February, I am going to walk through the district and look for overgrown trees that can be trimmed prior to the heavier demand in the spring and summer. If you notice an overgrown tree, please e-mail me. I am also interested in conducting a district wide survey of all of the empty tree boxes and see if we can request more trees to get planted.
